Accessibility improvement at the search functionality in "Suites"
Is there a way to improve the functionality of search results?
Right now, I have many tests, and when I try to search for something it’s not clear where my result is. Sometimes I have to scroll a lot before finding the result I want, and even then, sometimes I miss some results.
Is there a way for the search to work as in the “Tests” tab? Or maybe improve the highlight, not being only the border of the card?

We have completely rebuilt the UI for Suite runs. Currently, it looks and behaves similarly to Tests.
You can use the 'Search tests' inbox to search across the tests included in the visible suite. If you want to add a new test to the suite, you can use 'Add test to suite', which will open a separate modal with a list of tests and a separate search box.
I hope this solves the problem!

I checked the new improvement, and it’s a lot better than the old modal with the 2 columns!
Just one small annoying thing: it seems the main way to add a new test is the “+Add test to suite” at the bottom of the testsuite list.
Unfortunately, when I have a testsuite that’s quite large (50+ tests), I need to keep scrolling down every time. Not sure if you’re willing to make an update and change the button position to be visible at all time on the screen som(sticky somewhere), or even on top of the table instead of at the bottom. ^^

You can add an extra test between existing ones too ;)

Oh I didn’t notice that one. So it’s similar like steps inside a test. Ok that’s cool and fixes my annoyance :D !
One last question: did you keep the “legacy” flow on purpose still available? ^^
From the 3 dots and “Suite settings”. I’m guessing some people still prefered that one?

We kept this to enable the modification of suite parameters such as profile or auto-retry configurations.
For now, we have decided to leave this modal as it was, with the option to modify the tests also.

@Paweł Bylina I am currently in the process of reorganizing and creating a bunch of new testsuites, and with over 350 tests in our repository, this is quite painful. 😰
Ideally, the search functionality here would be much better by applying a filtering, so only matched results to be visible, but I am not sure how to you could handle this for both source and destination (left and right columns). Maybe 2 separate search fields that work independently from each other? This way you could search either in the source or the destination columns.
Do you think in the meantime you could consider a quick solution to make the matched results more visible? To me simply changing the highlight border from current violet color to red for example would be a great improvement for a visual matching when scrolling, or even highlighthing the entire matched cell(s) background to a light violet to keep the current color scheme.
Or simply add an arrow to the left of the matching entries? Something like ▶ ?

@Marius COJOCARIU Is it still an issue? I’ve missed this notification.
We want to redesign this view because the UX is rather bad. We started the design process.

Not so much an issue, just not very intuitive when the repository contains a lot of tests and you are looking for a single match when searching and need to scroll a lot to find it based on the border highlight. :D
Glad to hear you’re considering re-designing this part for better UX, looking forward to it! 👍
