When duplicating a test don't include "duplicate" word in titles
Since we can now have groups using the same name in one or multiple tests, it would be nice not to have the word "duplicate" added at the end of groups inside a duplicated test.
To reproduce:
Duplicate a test
Open the duplicated test
Notice that all groups, except components, will have the "- duplicate" word at the end

This way I could avoid having to remove the "- duplicate" from each group manually.

Hey @Paweł Bylina , is this one still low on your priority list?
It’s quite annoying after duplicating a test with many groups to waste time just to manually remove the “- duplicate” text from each group title. 😓

This is controversial because, in some cases, it helps, and in others, it does not. I think we should add a checkbox in the duplicate modal to differentiate this behavior. What do you think? The priority is low, but we try to implement minor UX fixes instead of just building top-vote features, so it could be done.

A long time ago I remember it wasn’t possible to have groups with the same title, in which case this duplicate word addition made sense.
But that old condition doesn’t exist any longer, we can have groups with same titles now.^^
If not removing the “- duplicate” title behaviour completely, then for me a checkbox or some other UI improvement to not include the “-duplicate” in the title of a group would be great indeed! 👍

Cool, we will discuss this at our weekly UX meeting.

Nice. Optionally adding the suffix “Duplicate” to groups of steps would be nice. And probably easy to do. These days I can either manually remove the word “duplicate” from each group in a test duplicate, or settle for a group suffix of “- Duplicate - Duplicate - Duplicate - Duplicate - Duplicate - Duplicate - Duplicate - Duplicate - Duplicate - Duplicate” after a few test iterations.
I can’t say which is more annoying to me…

What is your flow? Why duplicate a duplicated test?

QA: Have FeatureV1Test integrated with GitLab pipeline.
DEV: Works on FeatureV2 in a new branch branch.
QA: Work on FeatureV2Test integrated with GitLab pipeline for the new branch. »»»» HERE COMES “Duplicate” operation, I need something to start with, so I duplicate FeatureV1Test. ««««
QA: FeatureV1Test runs on main brach, while FeatureV2 and FeatureV2Test is developed in a new branch.
QA/DEV: FeatureV2 branch merged to main branch, incl. FeatureV2Test running in the pipeline.
CI/CD pipeline for other feature branches still run FeatureV1Test until main branch is merged into these branches.
After some time, all branches contain FeatureV2 and their pipeline uses FeatureV2Test.
FeatureV1Test becomes unused can be deleted.
Repeat with FeatureV3, FeatureV4, … »»»» HERE COMES “Duplicate” operation again, again and again. ««««
Apply to all features having their BugBug test.
So after few feature iterations, I have “duplicate - duplicate - duplicate” in test steps group names, OR I can painstaikingly delete this suffix from each test step group immediately after duplicating a test.

OK, thank you! The key problem is the missing branching feature in this description, but yes, an optional 'duplicate' could be helpful here.
